THEODORE ROOSEVELT AND JOHN MUIR
« Theodore Roosevelt and John Muir » painting created in 2020 with oil paint, acrylic paint, fluorescent acrylic paint, spray paint on X 700 cm huge canvas becomes a glowing picture once a blacklight tube is turned on, in a dark space.
Taken, inspired, from iconic black white photography in 1903 where Theodore Roosevelt the 26th US President posing beside John Muir Philosoph Naturalist from Scotland on a Glacier Point above the Yosemite Valley in California, USA, the panoramic and colourful painting express, beyond its pictorial language, a personal vision of a history about an event that saved and preserved a wild and natural space in the USA as the National Park where the canyons are still the same today as it was before.
Camping three days in the area, Roosevelt and Muir made a decision to protect a site and made it last until now.
The pact on preservation and protection has stayed more then a century, that let other natural resources exist not only the Yosemite but as well the Saquoia National Park, Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, Mount Rainier, Royal, Yellowstone, Zion National Park and among others.
