’Water is Not for Sale' at Bloom Galerie delves into the multifaceted symbolism and poetic allure of water. It navigates the role of water in religion, significance in queer identity, metaphorical link to the concepts of the body and gender, and role as a cultural nexus. Water, in its various forms, is a ubiquitous presence in our lives, serving as a unifying thread across diverse cultures. However, the gradual commodification of this vital resource has reshaped it from a natural element into a tradable commodity, sparking concerns about its scarcity.
Water possesses the remarkable ability to transform the spaces it occupies. This exhibition embarks on an exploration of physical, personal, and lyrical experiences intertwined with this profoundly intimate human resource. Its ultimate aim is to capture the majestic and enigmatic essence of water as a shared symbol of cultural significance amidst an evolving backdrop of commercialization and apprehensions about its availability.
